Matters needing attention in maximizing the power efficiency of Shante UPS

Shante UPS power supply is a constant voltage and constant frequency uninterruptible power supply with energy storage device and inverter as the main component. Shante UPS power supply plays an important role in protecting your data and equipment from damage. Therefore, it is very important to use and maintain Shante UPS correctly. Many users are limited to the notes in product specifications. In fact, reasonable maintenance and use of UPS need to run through the whole life cycle of UPS.
In order to ensure its normal operation and prolong its service life, the following aspects should be paid attention to in use and maintenance:
1. Reasonable selection of installation location
A good installation position is very important. The place where Shante UPS is placed must have good ventilation effect. It should be far away from water, flammable gases and corrosives. The ambient temperature should be kept between 0 and 40 C. If it is disassembled and assembled at low temperature, there may be water droplet condensation. Once the ambient temperature exceeds 25 degrees, the battery life will be reduced by half for every 10 degrees increase. At present, UPS batteries are generally maintenance-free sealed lead-acid batteries, and their design life is generally five years.
The UPS power supply should not be placed side by side, and the air intake and outlet should be kept unobstructed. When the load is connected with the UPS power supply, the load should be shut down first, then the wiring should be done, and then the load should be opened one by one. It is strictly forbidden to connect the inductive load such as the electric machine and the photocopier to UPS in order to avoid injury. When UPS is connected to a special socket with over-current protection device, the power socket used should be connected to protect the ground end; whether or not the input power line is inserted into the city power socket, the output of UPS may be live. In order to make UPS output-free, it is necessary to turn off the switch first, and then cancel the power supply.
2. Skillful first charge
After the newly purchased Shante UPS power supply, UPS should be inserted into the 220V municipal power grid and charged for at least 12 hours to ensure that the battery is fully charged. Otherwise, the actual available capacity of the battery will be much lower than the nominal capacity of the battery. If UPS power supply is not used for a long time. It should be started 24 hours every 2-3 months to fully charge the battery and keep the UPS power supply in the working state of the inverter for 2-3 minutes to ensure the normal life of the battery. Once the UPS power supply is connected to the market, it begins to charge the batteries, and continues to press the boot button for more than 1 second to start, that is, to turn on the inverter.
3. UPS should not be idle for a long time
Overdischarge and long-term idle use of batteries can increase the internal resistance of batteries and deteriorate their charging and discharging performance.  For long-term idle UPS power supply, before rebooting, let the UPS power supply use the charging circuit in the machine to charge for 12 hours before reloading. For backup UPS power supply, it is better to keep the UPS power supply working in the inverter state for 2-3 minutes every other month to activate the battery. In addition, it is necessary to strictly control the charging current of batteries, which should not exceed the maximum allowable charging current of batteries. Because excessive charging current will shorten the life of the battery.
4. Boot-up and Shut-down Sequence of UPS
The correct turn-on sequence should be to turn on UPS to supply power to it, and then turn on the loads, so as to avoid the damage caused by the instantaneous current shock when starting UPS. On the contrary, turn off the loads first and finally turn off UPS. When power supply is interrupted by UPS, the data and data of UPS should be saved as soon as possible and the computer should be shut down. Otherwise, the use of UPS power supply may cause excessive discharge of UPS, thus shortening the service life of UPS.
5. Avoid overload using UPS
When using UPS, we should also calculate the size of the load, to avoid overload or too small load, too large load will make UPS work in overload state for a long time, thus shortening the service life of UPS; if the load is too small, the working circuit of UPS will work in abnormal state for a long time, which is also harmful to UPS. Reasonable load should be controlled between 50% and 80%. Practice has proved that the output load control of UPS at about 60% is the best and the reliability is the best. When the UPS is overloaded or the inverter fails, it will turn to bypass mode. At this time, UPS does not have backup function. The power supply used by the load is supplied directly through the power system.
6. Use of AC Voltage Regulator
After using Shante UPS power supply, there is no need to add AC regulator. If it must be added, it should be in the front stage of UPS, that is, municipal power first through AC regulator, then through UPS, and then to load.
7. Battery Balanced Charging Skills
At present, many VRLA batteries used in UPS power supply have been called maintenance-free batteries from the beginning, which gives users a misunderstanding that these batteries are durable and need no maintenance at all.  In this misleading way, many users have not maintained and managed the battery since it was installed. Batteries in UPS power supply should be charged equally when excessive discharge causes the terminal voltage to be lower than the required calibration voltage of the battery. For 12V small sealed lead-acid batteries, the discharge calibration voltage is 10.5V; for 24V batteries, the discharge end voltage is 21V; for 96V batteries, the discharge calibration voltage is 85V. The battery was not charged in time after discharge; the battery was unused for a long time. City power interruption, continuous floating batteries, released nearly half of the capacity of the battery.
8. Do not use diesel generators
UPS should not be powered by diesel generators, because its frequency often changes abruptly and unsteadily, affecting the normal operation of UPS.
9. Pay attention to the safe operation of operators
When connecting the output power supply to UPS, we should also pay attention to safety. Because the output voltage and current of UPS are relatively large, we should also pay attention to safety to prevent the occurrence of electric shock when connecting the output power supply. Battery replacement
